Nursing Study Tips

Nursing exams reward a particular kind of studying: fewer facts memorised in isolation, more frameworks practised until they are automatic. This section collects study strategies written for that reality.

Three habits that transfer to every nursing course

  • Study from the question backwards. Nursing questions describe a patient and ask for a priority. Practise turning every topic into "what would I do first?" before you learn the details.
  • Learn priorities as rules, not lists. Airway before breathing, physical safety before psychological comfort, acute change before chronic problem. A handful of rules answers hundreds of questions.
  • Explain rationales aloud. If you cannot say why the correct answer is correct and why each distractor is wrong, you have recognised the answer rather than learned it.
